Hi all,
We had originally set our give away to end tonight at midnight. With that being said, we haven't reached our goal of $2000. We're half way there!!! So close! So, we've decided to hold it over until we reach our goal, then draw names for the given items and ship them off to their new homes.
With help of sharing our post of the give away it will help us spread the word and raise the final funds that I will take with me to Beautiful Gate Care Centre.
In a previous Facebook post I had a little sneak peak into the Beautiful Gate Care Centre, here it is incase you missed it.
Here's a little about Beautiful Gate Care Centre:
The name Beautiful Gate originates from: Acts 3:2 Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!" Then Peter said, Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.
What They Do:
They provide residential and medial care to abandoned children ages 0-5. They network with the government and organizations to advocate for the rights of these children.
We're waiting, hoping for the August meeting but also trying not to focus on it too much. So while we wait, we're hosting a fundraiser with great prizes to be won by donation. ALL moneys will go directly to Beautiful Gate! There are many projects always happening in Beautiful Gate, new houses need to be built to make room for new babies, repairs, staffing rooms, medical supplies, vehicles (just to name a few). All of this to properly care for all of the children. The site has five children’s houses with a capacity of 75. It has a house for playgroup, chapel, clinic, administration building, maintenance building, long-term volunteer housing, and recently we opened the short-term volunteer dorm. It has 45 local staff and 67 children. Over the years, Beautiful Gate has helped over 400 children, many who were adopted both internationally and locally or reunited with their families.
Donate as little as 10$ or as much as you'd like.. get entered for some awesome prizes and help a little one have a safe place to play, get the medicine she needs and the nutrients to grow
With that being said, the matching meeting DID in fact finally happen!!! August 29th was the meeting date and we are hopeful to hear back from Sunrise by this Friday to see if we have been matched. If a referral comes through for us, it will still be a few weeks until we receive any information on our daughter. Just knowing we have been matched will give us a full heart and make the last few waiting times a little easier. Once again, on the edge of our seats… waiting! There has been some major political turmoil in Lesotho this past week. There are currently no police in Lesotho but the town has been quiet and looting or petty theft has not happened. Volunteers have fled to South Africa for secure safety until things are back to normal. We are keeping them in our thoughts and hoping for a peaceful resolution. For more information on that, you can read the Beautiful Gate Blog here:

Until this resolves (hopefully soon) it is deemed unsafe to travel. Our travel date, if matched, would likely be a few months away and we are hopeful it will be resolved come that time. However, for the families who were already matched and have a September travel date, this could be heart breaking! Praying that the safety to travel will change soon and they will be able to continue through to be joined with their child.
